What’s new for the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta?

The Volkswagen Jetta ranks as one of the most recognizable and well-regarded sedans in the automaker’s lineup. In fact, VW has sold more than 17 million Jetta sedan worldwide since it was introduced to customers in the late 1970s. As for what’s new for the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta, the automaker is making some subtle but significant changes despite the fact that the vehicle was radically redesigned last year. The 2020 Jetta will still ride on the manufacturer’s award-winning MQB chassis architecture which continues to offer enhanced interior space in addition to newly available connectivity technology. When the 2020 VW Jetta is delivered to our showroom, Team Gunther Volkswagen customers will have five trim levels available, S, SE, R-Line, SEL and SEL Premium. All 2020 Jetta trims will be equipped with the next-generation Car-Net® system. The biggest change for the 2020 model of the Jetta is the availability of an in-car Wi-Fi capability.

Customers will need to subscribe to a data plan. Also, the SEL and SEL Premium versions will offer wireless charging as standard equipment.

The 2020 VW Jetta SEL and SEL Premium are also equipped with manufacturer’s Digital Cockpit, a 10.25-inch display that will allow drivers to monitor several different systems.

Convenience and comfort are still at the center of the available features of the 2020 VW Jetta. It offers comfortable seating for five passengers and 14.1 cubic-feet of trunk space.

Performance Specs

The 2020 Jetta is powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine which can be attached to a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic gear-changer. It will produce 147 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy scores for the 2020 Jetta will be announced closer to the vehicle’s release date. Additionally, drivers will be able to choose from four driving modes, Normal, Sport, Eco and Custom. Each mode will make some adjustments to the vehicle’s throttle response which can affect fuel economy and power output.
