Volkswagen upgrades technology in the latest Atlas crossover SUV

New Technology for the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas

The Volkswagen Atlas is about to enter its fourth year of production. Team Gunther VW customers waiting to see what the three-row, nimble and powerful crossover SUV has to offer won’t have much longer to wait. Our manufacturing partner has finally released some information about the new technology for the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas. Not only will the 2021 Atlas have eight trim grades to offer potential customers, but the automaker is equipping its top-end crossover SUV with a more advanced suite of connectivity options. Updated VW Infotainment System 

Every 2021 VW Atlas that will arrive at the Team Gunther Volkswagen showroom will feature a version of the automaker’s modular infotainment matrix (MIB). That means that all eight 2021 VW Atlas trim grades (S, SE, SE w/Technology, SE w/Technology R-Line, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium, SEL Premium R-Line) will be to access the Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ suites of applications. Furthermore, the 2021 Atlas will be universally equipped with a capacitive-touch touchscreen interface.  

Versions of the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas above the base S trim will get the third-generation MIB3 system. This will provide owners of those models with an 8-inch touchscreen that will allow for multiple smartphones to be connected to the system at the same time. Other new features include enhanced voice recognition and two illuminated USB-C ports in the center stack. SE trims and above will also offer an additional charge-only USB port in the center stack and another two charge-only ports in the rear seats. 

The Volkswagen Digital Cockpit is also returning to the latest version of the Atlas family. It will be equipped with SEL models and higher. Drivers will be able to customize the 10-inch display, show 21 different types of information. Some of the options include car status, navigation, driving data, phone information and driver assistance features.
