Is Volkswagen updating the Arteon for 2021?

Volkswagen models like Jetta and Passat usually dominate the conversation surrounding the automaker’s lineup of sedans. However, the arrival of the Arteon changed the way people spoke about VW sedans. From day one, it offered lots of power, an eye-catching silhouette and an engaging handling profile. So, is Volkswagen updating the Arteon for 2021? It appears that the automaker is gearing up for a major virtual product presentation on June 24 that will introduce an all-new version of the Arteon to the world. As of right now, there isn’t a whole lot of information available about what they’ll be showing. Even with that being said, there are some things we do know and want to share. Let’s take a look at a few things.

Is the Arteon Shooting Brake coming to the U.S.?

As an automotive with a global presence, Volkswagen will often make certain vehicle types available only in certain markets. While wagons, or the Shooting Brake platform is popular in Europe and other foreign locales, Volkswagen will not be making an appearance in the United States. The classic gran turismo fastback sedan will be the only body style available at American dealerships like Team Gunther Volkswagen.

What can I expect to see with the 2021 Arteon?

VW has let us know that the inside of the 2021 Arteon will be one of many elements that are being redesigned. The driver cockpit will provide a very athletic experience for the person behind the wheel. Many of the vehicle’s multimedia systems will be controlled with the latest Volkswagen infotainment system, modular infotainment matrix 3. Several features will be integrated to provide cross functionality.

The automaker is introducing a Travel Assist feature, which will help take some of the pressure off of the driver by providing some semi-autonomous driving functionality. Steering, acceleration and braking can be handled by the new Travel Assist system on appropriately equipped version of the 2021 VW Arteon.

We’ll bring you more information about the new Arteon later this month when the presentation ends. If you want to learn about what we have available right now, make an appointment with a Team Gunther VW product expert today.
