The Volkswagen class of 2021 crossover SUVs have a lot of capability to offer. Interior cabin space is often the breaking point for people in choosing a crossover SUV, it’s easier to deal with a platform that offers a little too much room versus a vehicle that is always going to be too small. Which one can hold more people? 

Volkswagen offers several two-row crossover SUV models, one of them being the 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport. The latest Atlas Cross Sport will be able to hold five people. A driver and their front passenger will have 41.6 inches of legroom, leaving people in the rear seat with 40.4 inches to stretch their legs.  

One of the most interesting things about the 2021 Tiguan is that it’s available with two seating configurations. A front-wheel-drive Tiguan will have three rows of seats that can hold seven people, models with the 4Motion® all-wheel-drive system will have two rows and can hold five people. Starting in the first row of the 2021 Tiguan, those people will have 40.2 inches. Second-row passengers offer 36.6 inches and those in the rearmost row can use 27.9 inches. 

The two-row version of the 2021 VW Tiguan will have 40.2 inches of legroom in the front seats and 38.7 inches of legroom in the back seats.

2021 Atlas Cross Sport vs. 2021 Tiguan Cargo Volume 

When the 2021 Tiguan is properly configured to offer the most cargo room, there will be 65.7 cubic-feet. Up to 33 cubic-feet and 12 cubic-feet is available behind the second and third rows, respectively. A little more than 73 cubic-feet is the maximum cargo volume available in the two-row Tiguan, leaving 37.8 cubic-feet behind the second row. 

Owners of the 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport will make 40.3 cubic-feet available behind the second row. Up to 77.8 cubic-feet will be the maximum cargo volume available in the vehicle.
