When will the Beetle be discontinued?
The VW Beetle has a long history that leaves it close to the heart for many car shoppers. This model has an iconic shape that has made it distinctive through nearly seven decades. However, very soon we will have to say goodbye to this classic design. When will the Beetle be discontinued? The 2019 model year is scheduled to be the last time the Beetle is produced. There will be a special Final Edition model and some celebrations before it goes.
What is included on the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle Final Edition?
This model will come standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated for 174 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, a touchscreen infotainment system (6.3-inches on the SE, with standard navigation on the SEL), keyless entry with push-button start, automatic climate control, three-color ambient lighting, a black central console, and a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel. The upholstery will be either cloth-and-leatherette or diamond-stitched leather, depending on the trim. Drivers will be able to choose coupe or convertible body styles.
Will they make the VW Beetle again?
There are no plans right now to resurrect the Volkswagen Beetle, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen. It does, however, mean that it probably won’t happen in the next couple of years. Like the VW bus, which recently receive new life with the I.D. BUZZ electric microbus, the Beetle hold such a strong grasp on our common imagination that it may someday return.
How much will the 2019 Beetle Final Edition cost?
The starting prices for the 2019 Beetle Final Edition SE will be $23,045 for coupes and $27,295 for convertibles. Opting for the SEL trim sets the starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices at $25,995 (coupe) or $29,995 (convertible). Drivers will be able to choose between Safari Uni and Stonewashed Blue exterior colors.
